The Garden joins the tourism department of Chemill\u00e9-en-Anjou. Elected representatives and municipal employees, as well as the association “Les Amis du Jardin”, contribute to the development of this educational, touristic and scientific site.

Camifolia employs 6 full-time workers placed under the responsibility of the director and the coordination of the Head of Tourism. Additional seasonal workers such as gardeners, activity organisers and front desk officers are recruited from March to October.<\/span><\/h4>\n

THE HISTORY OF CAMIFOLIA<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Camifolia Garden in Chemill\u00e9-en-Anjou is a green oasis located in the heart of the Hyr\u00f4me Valley. It has over 600 species of medicinal, aromatic and dyeing plants, each with amazing properties. The garden was created in 1976 by a group of local producers. Back then, it was located in the Town Hall garden and was a public garden. Over the years, it underwent a series of changes. In 1996, the non-profit organisation \u201cLes Amis du jardin\u201d (Friends of the Garden), along with the Tourist Office and the various municipalities surrounding Chemill\u00e9, decided to give a touristic, cultural and educational purpose to the garden. The Camifolia garden was inaugurated in 2008. In 2010, it received the \u201cBotanical garden of France and French speaking countries\u201d label.<\/span><\/h4>\n
